Last week we began our first official week of traveling to different parks in Massachusetts. Our first trip was to Thompson Island for a youth kickoff with Outward bound as well as other various youth groups in the National Park system. We hiked all over Thompson Island. The second day we went to Salem. We visited the custom house, where Nathaniel Hawthrone had his office. The picture posted is taken from the second floor of the Customs Houses overlooking the Wharf. We also went on the friendship, which will be our home for a week in August. Finally on Friday we went to Saugus Ironworks, where we learned about the first iron works in America.
