SCIP meets Gateway Youth to form Friendship! Boston African American national historic site offer advice

This was one of the most interesting weeks of SCIP ever. We visited the Boston African American National Historic Site got a tour from a fellow SCIPper Karyn. Here we met the site manager Terry Brown and the Superintendent “Cash”. They shared their experiences with us and told us the secrets to success. Terry told us its best to always be on time, to never be satisfied, and to seize opportunity at every corner. Cash explained that leadership in your job, is one of the most important pieces necessary for success. When we took our tour with Karyn, we learned about the close knit African American community that did everything in their power to ensure that not one person ever had to go back or into Slavery. We also met up with the Gateway Youth from New York and had an over-night on the ship! The connections that were formed with these Youth Leaders, will ensure America remains beautiful. Till next time, Captain SCIP.
