The Law of the park lands! and Lighting the way for Future generations

Just last week we SCIP’ed back to Boston and Lowell again. This time when we went to Boston, we saw the Park Service in a different light. We learned all about Law Enforcement within the Park Service, and the challenges these Protection Officers face. Through rigorous training, and studying these Men and Women, quiet literally protect our Park Lands. We even had the distinct pleasure of meeting Kevin Mulligan and his bomb dog Kelly. We learned that Kelly is only one of 3 bomb dogs in the entire Park service! To think she saves lives only for a treat. The following day our adventure brought us back to Lowell, where we met up with our fellow SCIPper Rich. He taught us all about renewable energy, and the maintenance division and how they try to maintain the historical integrity at the same time keep up with new technologies. The solar panels, he explained are an investment that will pay off in the future. What an awesome week to be a SCIPper!
